FEATURES
► A comprehensive database comprising thousands of original questions categorised into 3 strategic layers: (1) Topic --> (2) Sub Topics --> (3) Concepts
• Students attain topical mastery by practising from the concept level
• The difficulty levels of each layer ranges from 1 to 5. Some concepts have a maximum difficulty level of 3 while others have a maximum difficulty level of 5. Attain the highest level to show a complete mastery of concepts, sub-topics and the topic
► An initial diagnostic and recommendation feature that evaluates a new student's strengths and weaknesses and pinpoints concepts to improve on
• EdXP will seek to assess your proficiency of the entire Mathematics syllabus with an initial assessment. It is completely fine if you have not learnt some of the topics before and so do not know how to do the questions. Just give it your best shot!
• The initial assessment will consist of 10 questions taken from all topics. You will be given 50 minutes to answer all questions
• You have the option of skipping the initial assessment. But do note that the initial assessment notification will be provided only once upon initial sign in. If you choose to dismiss it, you will not be able to receive the notification again
• If you dismiss the notification, you can still assess your proficiency levels across all topics by doing an assessment at the subject level (eg. IBDP Math AA HL). You can find the "Start assessment" button located at the top right hand corner. This feature is only available on a paid account
• Results from assessments accurately reveal students' proficiencies by highlighting on a scale of 1 to 5 the concepts a student is strong and weak in
► A training module which allows students to practise and improve
• If you would like to practise Differentiation (Topic) → Differentiation Techniques (Sub-Topic) → Product Rule (Concept), hover your mouse over the Product Rule hexagon and select "Continue Training"
• Before you commence training, EdXP will ask you to select (1) the difficulty level of the questions and (2) calculator or non-calculator questions
• You can only select up to the difficulty level that corresponds with your proficiency level. For example, you can only train at level 1 for Product Rule if your proficiency level is only 1 but you can train up to level 5 for First Principles since your proficiency level is at level 5
• If you answer a question correctly, you will be able to see your XP bar increase as you gain XP which will move you closer to the next level
• If you answer a question wrongly, you will lose XP which will move you further away from the next level
*Pro Tip: Every question is accompanied by detailed solutions. View these solutions to learn from your mistakes or find out how you can solve a question more efficiently
• You have to answer enough level 1 questions correctly before you can attain level 2. Once you reach level 2, you will have access to level 2 questions
• Keep gaining XP and levelling up until you reach the highest level for your chosen topic, sub-topic or concept
• While there are 5 levels of difficulties, not all sub-topic or concepts have up to level 5 questions. Some of them may only have up to level 3
► An assessment module that accurately determines a student's strength and weakness in any topic and at any time
• Before you commence the assessment, EdXP will ask you to select (1) the range of the difficulty levels of the questions, (2) calculator or non-calculator questions and (3) the duration of your assessment
• For the range of the difficulty levels, you can choose any range you would like regardless of your proficiency level.
*Pro tip: This is where you can try out questions of higher difficulty levels
• For the duration of the assessment, you can select in blocks of 30 minutes and up to a maximum duration of 180 minutes
• Once you start an assessment, you are not allowed to leave without submitting your assessment. If you submit an incomplete assessment, you will lose XP as a result of incorrect answers
• You will gain and lose more XP at the assessment module than at the training mode so do not take the assessments lightly
• Attempt all the questions to the best of your ability. Unlike at training mode, you will not be able to check your answer after each question
• Answer a question and select "Next" to move on to the next question. When you have completed the assessment, select "Submit" to submit your answers
• After submitting your answers, EdXP will tell you how well you did and recommend concepts that you should focus on to improve
• From this example, EdXP has recommended this student to focus on First Principles and L'Hospital's Rule concepts under the Differentiation Techniques sub-topic
• You can also check your answers for the questions you have gotten wrong and learn from EdXP's detailed solutions
